This homeowner contacted HomeSpec to repair his sunken and cracked walkway.
Our crew injected our expanding PolyLevel foam under the concrete slabs to raise and level them, then repaired the cracks with our strong silicone-based sealant for a brand new looking walkway.
This homeowner contacted HomeSpec because she had several worsening stair-step cracks in her basement (as shown in the photos below). This problem is common with block foundation walls.
Our crew solved her problem by installing a carbon fiber system to stabilize the walls and prevent further cracking. This system is installed from the interior and installs quickly!
This homeowner needed his long driveway slab lifted because it was sinking and uneven, so he contacted HomeSpec.
Our team used our innovative PolyLevel system to solve this problem. The expanding polyurethane foam was injected under the concrete slab, and as it expanded, the slab was raised and leveled back into place. The PolyLevel installation is a quick and non-invasive process too.
The windows and doors in this Hadley, Michigan home were often sticking and difficult to open/close. Then the homeowner started noticing diagonal cracks sprouting out from the corners of the doorways. There was even gaps in between the floor and the floor boards. He looked it up online, and read on the HomeSpec website that those are signs of foundation issues, so he contacted us immediately.
Upon inspection, it was discovered that the foundation of the home was settling into the soil, but because of varying soil characteristics, it was not uniform. To solve this problem, HomeSpec installed a foundation pier system. The piers are inserted underneath the foundation at key points to jack it up. This stabilizes it and returns it to the original position.
This Hadley, Michigan homeowner contacted HomeSpec because the concrete around his home was so badly cracked, he thought he would need to replace it all. That includes his driveway, walkway, and patio. The homeowner said he put it off for years because he thought it would be a large, time (and money) consuming project. But HomeSpec informed him that the PolyLevel system would repair his concrete within a day and for only a fraction of the cost of replacing it. He was so shocked!
The concrete slabs were first leveled using PolyLevel. Then all of the cracks were filled and the joints were sealed. This prevents the soil underneath from being washed out, and keeps weeds from growing between the slabs. The concrete around the home looked as good as new, and the homeowner was able to use his driveway later that day. PolyLevel saved the day once again!
This customer realized there were leaking cracks in his elderly mother's basement after a heavy rainfall, so he immediately contacted HomeSpec. Since no one ever went into the basement, the cracks had gotten pretty bad over the years and water was pooling on the floor. The homeowner's son was worried about his mother and was worried the basement might flood eventually.
Our crack technician was able to quickly make it out to Hadley to repair the cracks. They were waterproofed and sealed to ensure they won't worsen over time or leak any further. Our crack sealant is flexible enough to move with the wall so it won't dry out. The homeowner and her son feel so much better now and thanked HomeSpec for giving them peace of mind.
These homeowners were worried about the safety around their pool. The concrete slabs around the pool were starting to crack and sink. They were starting to become a trip hazard and they didn't want their kids to get injured. They also didn't want to replace all of the concrete, so the homeowners called HomeSpec.
Our concrete experts were able to inject the expanding PolyLevel foam under the slabs to raise and level them. They sealed the cracks and joints to prevent unsightly weeds from growing in between them, and to prevent more soil from being washed out. Since the concrete surrounds a pool and often gets wet, the homeowners also wanted the concrete sealed with our protective SealantPro. This helps the concrete last 3-5 years longer.
The porch on this Metamora home was sinking and pulling away from the foundation. It was starting to become an eyesore, but the homeowners didn’t know why this was happening or how to fix it, so they called the concrete experts at HomeSpec.
Luckily the porch wasn’t supporting any sort of structure - if it had columns supporting a roof for example, it wouldn’t be able to be PolyLeveled. Since the areas were all freestanding concrete slabs, our crew was able to use PolyLevel to fix the porch problem.
PolyLevel is injected below concrete through a minimally-invasive method, and expands to fill in the voids between the soil and the slab - all the while the slab is lifted and leveled. It cures quickly and the area can be used again within a day. The joints between the porch and the home, as well as the porch and the steps were all sealed as well. The homeowners were happy to find an economical, stress-free solution to their concrete problem.
This homeowner reached out to HomeSpec because she had several cracks in her basement that were improperly fixed by the previous owner. The cracks looked sloppily repaired, and they were still leaking profusely. She couldn’t even get in contact with the company that allegedly did the repair.
Our crack technician had to first remove the old repairs, and then he could properly fix the cracks. They were completely sealed and waterproofed with FlexiSpan, which won’t dry out or crack like other sealants. It’s also flexible enough to move with the wall. The best part is, after the repairs were done, you couldn’t even tell where the cracks once were! Several months later the homeowner reported still having a dry basement.
A customer contacted us because she was interested in having a vapor barrier and insultation installed in her crawl space. Our inspector checked the crawl space and noted that while there was no water in the crawl space at the time, it was very humid.
The homeowner decided not to move forward with the work. She later contacted us, however, wanting to get the vapor barrier. She also decided that she wanted an interior drainage system that was suggested to her when the inspector first visited her house. Our crew installed the drainage system and vapor barrier, ensuring the crawl space will be dry.
When a homeowner in Lapeer noticed water seeping into her basement, she contacted us for help. She said the basement had an interior drainage system, but it had failed and no longer did its job.
Our inspector found water seeping into the house at the bottom of the wall. We installed a new drainage system along the perimeter of the basement. Our system comes backed with a warranty, so if the homeowner ever experienced issues in the future we would repair it for her, saving her the money and trouble of finding someone else to replace it.
A homeowner reached out to us because he had a crack leaking in his basement wall. He said he had repaired the crack himself 20 years ago and it recently started leaking again. Our crew sealed the crack to ensure he won't have that issue again.
We recommend having a professional fill cracks because while sometimes they do last, in this customer's case, other times it can pose a threat to the home. For instance, a DIY fill could cause the crack to expand, leading to more leaking or even foundation damage.
These Metamora homeowners contacted HomeSpec because they noticed serious problems with their foundation such as stair-step cracks and bowing. They also had water issues in the past, so they had an interior drainage system already installed.
The best thing to do in this scenario is get the repairs done as soon as possible before they get even worse.
So to repair this basement, our experts installed two different types of stabilization systems on the walls and repaired the damaged/cracked concrete blocks. Now the walls are stabilized and the homeowners don't have to worry!
Some concrete problems only affect certain people. Like if your driveway is uneven or cracked, it only affects you and your family because you're the only ones who use it. On the other hand, uneven and sinking sidewalks affect way more people - anyone can walk along the sidewalk.
Two slabs of the concrete sidewalk in front of this Dryden home had dipped to create a " V" shape. In the summer, their kids would trip over it while playing. In the winter, it would fill with snow and ice - creating a very slippery hazard. The family wanted it repaired to keep everyone safe, so they called HomeSpec to PolyLevel it.
PolyLevel is a minimally-invasive two-part polymer that is injected below the slabs to fill in the gaps between the soil and the concrete. It is also waterproof and safe for the environment. As is expands, the slab is raised and leveled with those around it. Now the homeowners don't have to worry about people tripping or slipping in the divot that was caused by soil erosion - our crew sealed the joints between the slabs to prevent more washout.
This homeowner bought a 90-year-old home that had some serious foundation issues, like sagging joists. Their structural engineer came up with a plan and urged them to call HomeSpec to implement the plan because we do the best work.
The floor needed to be lifted and new beams needed to be installed. To fix the problem, our crew installed dozens of new beams and a new support post, and the floors were lifted. The homeowner is glad he doesn't have to worry about the structural integrity of his beautiful old home!
The owners of this old Imlay City home contacted HomeSpec to repair their damaged foundation. The walls were cracked and bowing inward, which jeopardizes the structural integrity of the home.
To solve this problem, our crew installed PowerBraces along the bowing wall. These beams stabilize the wall and potentially straighten it to its original position. The homeowners felt relieved to have this issue resolved and were very thankful to the crew at HomeSpec.
This homeowner contacted HomeSpec because the concrete driveway slabs at his new home were cracked and sinking - overall an eyesore. HomeSpec used the cost-effective, non-abrasive method called PolyLevel to repair the concrete.
The sunken slabs were raised and leveled by injecting a rigid foam below the concrete to fill in the gaps caused by soil erosion. Then the cracks were filled with the NexusPro joint sealant. The homeowner was very pleased he didn't have to replace the entire driveway, and was able to easily repair it instead with PolyLevel.
These homeowners in Silverwood, Michigan contacted HomeSpec because their foundation wall was in bad shape. The wall was cracked severely and bowing inward - it needed to be repaired and the homeowners' concern was growing.
HomeSpec was able to stabilize the wall with the PowerBrace Wall Repair System. These prevent further movement and can potentially straighten the wall as well. The cracks were also filled to prevent water from leaking in, and a vapor barrier was installed over the wall.
The homeowners were very pleased with the results!
