Challenge

These homeowners were used to flooding in their area, but they had two sump pumps in their basement and didn't experience many water issues - until 2020. During a bad storm, their outdated sump pumps died and their basement flooded. They had no backup pump and no waterproofing system unfortunately. Like many people do, they lost several boxes of belongings and memories that were stored down there - including old family photos.  The homeowners decided they needed a permanent solution and didn't want to worry about their basement flooding again, so they called HomeSpec. 

Solution

Our team developed a plan to keep the basement dry, even during the heaviest rains. The first products that needed to be installed were two new TripleSafe sump pumps for triple the protection. The battery backup pump kicks in if the power goes out to provide the ultimate protection. This system can pump out thousands of gallons of water every hour and expel it away from the home. We then connected the sump pump to a French drain system around the perimeter of the basement to collect water from the walls and under the floor. These two work together to prevent water from leaking into the basement and ultimately prevent flooding. Lastly, we installed our FloodRing around the water heater to protect against water heater floods.
