This basement flooded after a bad storm because the homeowner's sump pump failed. Sadly, this is a common problem. Old sump pumps simply cannot handle high amounts of water.
After removing the damaged drywall, several cracked and damaged walls were discovered as well. The walls were deflecting inward and there was some shearing. This homeowner wanted to repair her basement and never have to worry about it again.
That's where HomeSpec comes in! Our team of experts curated a special solution to solve this problem. First, the basement needed to be waterproofed so we installed an interior drainage system with a sump pump. Our sumps can pump out thousands of gallons of water every hour - preventing this basement from flooding again. Next, the walls needed to be stabilized. We used the PowerBrace wall repair system and the carbon fiber system to prevent further damage and potentially straighten them.
An Ortonville, MI homeowner reached out to HomeSpec Waterproofing and Foundation Repair to repair a concrete driveway. Not only were there cracks but some of the slabs had begun to sink. This gap even allowed grass to grow through the concrete. This particular homeowner was already very familiar with the company because they had been hired before. They had owned two homes throughout the years and HomeSpec encapsulated both crawl spaces. When it came time for more repairs, they already knew what company they wanted to work with.
A senior project manager named Erik visited the home and evaluated the cracked driveway. He was the same project manager who had done their last inspection for the crawl space. Erik discussed his findings with the homeowner and together they came up with a plan that met the homeowner’s goals. The homeowner agreed to let HomeSpec’s team use PolyLevel® Injection Foam to lift the slabs up again until the entire driveway was level again. Then, the crew would seal the cracks and joints using NexusPro sealant. The group that completed this project was led by a PolyLevel foreman named Fred. The homeowner was happy with the final results!
