The sidewalks in front of a Royal Oak, MI home had become unlevel, sinking in sections. The highest areas of the public sidewalks were tripping hazards for the community. The homeowner was concened that the city would push for concrete replacement and insist that responsibility fell on the homeowner’s shoulders. Knowing this could be a costly solution, they searched for other options in advance. They reached out to HomeSpec Waterproofing and Foundation Repair to learn more about concrete leveling repairs.

A project manager named Ben went out to the home to provide a free inspection for the homeowner. The two spoke about their concerns and then took a look outside. Ben recorded important information on the condition of the sidewalks so he could prepare a repair plan. He then sat down with the homeowner to review what he had noticed and proposed the best options to meet their needs. Ben recommended using PolyLevel® Injection Foam where there were sinking slabs to return them to level that matched the rest of the sidewalk. Afterward, the HomeSpec crew would use NexusPro, a specialized sealant, on the joints and where there were cracks. The homeowner agreed with this plan and worked with HomeSpec’s office personnel to schedule a day for the repairs. Foreman Blake Dushefski and his crew installed a WaterGuard Drainage System, also referred to as a French Drain. This was connected to a TripleSafe Sump Pump which can pump out 2,000+ gallons of water per hour. This system installs below the floor around the perimeter of the basement to gather any water coming into the basement, then deposits it into the sump pump to be directed away from the home. This is the most efficient way to waterproof a basement from the interior. 

Scott was so excited to have a dry basement for the first time ever – and the system even held up against the record rainfall and flooding that occurred recently, which made him very happy. 

This homeowner contacted HomeSpec to get his concrete driveway repaired after putting it off for many years. Several slabs were sunken and cracked, causing a tripping hazard. He needed a permanent solution. 

Our team used PolyLevel to solve this problem. We injected an expanding 2-part polymer rigid foam under the concrete slabs to raise and level them by filling in gaps caused by soil shrinkage and washout. Then we sealed all of the cracks and joints with our NexusPro sealant. Then the concrete was sealed with our SealantPro to protect and preserve it. This prevents discoloration, flaking, and cracking over time. The homeowner was so happy with how his driveway transformed!
