Challenge
This basement was in bad shape, and the homeowner wanted it fixed permanently so he didn't have to worry. This is why he called HomeSpec.
One wall was bowing and one was severely cracked - which can eventually lead to a collapse if not repaired properly. In that case, the work will obviously be much more expensive and time consuming. Water was seeping into the basement from several walls as well.
Solution
There were several steps needed to repair this basement. First of all, the walls needed to be stabilized with a carbon fiber system and the cracks needed to be sealed. Several SmartJack support posts were installed for settlement repair too.
Then the basement needed to be waterproofed. An interior perimeter drainage system was installed with a sump pump and our CleanSpace vapor barrier was installed on the walls. These systems prevent flooding and water problems by immediately collecting the water coming in, and funneling it away from the home.
