Homeowner in Garden City, MI Has Basement Wall Repaired With Carbon Armor After Neighbor Crashes Car Into the Wall
A homeowner in Garden City, MI had an unfinished basement with a block foundation that had seen little to no trouble over the years. However, an unfortunate incident occurred that left them concerned about the structural integrity of their basement walls. It happened when the owner's neighbor accidentally crashed their car into the side of their home. Although the collision didn't cause any immediate damage, it left a mark in the form of smaller cracks that began to snake their way across the basement walls. Worried about the long-term consequences, the homeowner reached out to us for professional help.   Upon arrival, our experienced Project Manager carefully examined the basement walls, taking note of the web of fine cracks that had formed as a result of the car collision. Fortunately, he determined that there was no bowing on the walls at that time, which indicated that the foundation had not shifted significantly. To fortify the homeowners walls and prevent any further damage, he recommended the Carbon Armor—a product designed to reinforce and stabilize cracked or bowed foundation walls.   The installation process began by having our crew thoroughly clean and prepare the cracked areas on the basement walls. Our crew repaired the cracks using specialized epoxy injections, ensuring a solid foundation for the Carbon Armor installation. Next, they measured and cut strips of Carbon Armor, which are made of incredibly strong carbon fiber fabric. These strips were then adhered to the prepared wall surfaces using a high-strength epoxy resin. The Carbon Armor acted as a reinforcement system, effectively distributing the structural loads and preventing the cracks from spreading or worsening over time. To maximize the effectiveness of the Carbon Armor, our crew overlapped the strips at key stress points along the basement walls. This technique ensured that the entire wall surface received comprehensive reinforcement, leaving no room for cracks to develop.   With the installation of Carbon Armor and the necessary measures in place, the homeowner could now enjoy peace of mind, knowing that their basement was safeguarded against the uncertainties of the future.
Mobile Homeowner in Shelby Township, MI has PolyLevel and Curtain Drain Installed to Level and Waterproof Driveway
A mobile homeowner in Shelby Township, MI had reached out to us because they had concerns with their driveway.  However, as the conversation unfolded, it became apparent that there were other concerns that needed attention. They had noticed some water seepage in the area surrounding the home and wanted to address those concerns as well.   Understanding the importance of addressing all of their concerns, our Project Manager devised a custom solution for this homeowner. The Curtain Drain would act as a trench to funnel the water away from the home and into an exterior discharge. While the PolyLevel would act as a mechanism to level the driveway and return it to its original evenness.    To begin the process, our crew carefully evaluated the topography and layout of the property. They identified areas where water tended to collect and potentially infiltrate the foundation to determine the best application for the Curtain Drain. Next, our crew started the installation process. They first excavated a trench deep enough along the agreed upon route of the curtain drain. Then they erected temporary barriers and utilized tarps to shield the area dry throughout the project. With these precautions in place, the homeowner could easily maintain their peace of mind knowing the work area was safe. Once the trench was fully excavated, our crew placed a perforated pipe at the bottom of the trench. This pipe would act as the main conduit for channeling water away from the home's foundation. To ensure the best possible drainage, the pipes are placed with the perforations facing the soil. Then, our crew covered the pipe with a layer of gravel. This gravel acts as a filter, allowing water to seep into the pipe while preventing soil and debris from clogging it. To further enhance the effectiveness of the curtain drain, our crew began the process of installing the PolyLevel. This compound raises the concrete slabs of the driveway back to their original level without causing any exterior damage or replacing any concrete.    Once the installation was complete, the homeowner was glad to have their driveway restored to its original level and the water damage would no longer affect the leveling issues they had been facing.

Waterford Township homeowner has Carbon Fiber Power Grid installed to prevent basement walls from bowing any further
There was a family in Waterford Township, MI who lived in a home with an unfinished basement. As the family grew, they started using the basement for storage more often, but soon became concerned about a large vertical crack in one of the walls. The crack was widening over time and the family was worried that it might compromise the structural integrity of their home. They needed a solution to solve the problem quickly and effectively. That's when they reached out to HomeSpec BasementFix to provide a permanent fix to their problem. Once they had contacted us, we sent out a Project Manager who specialized in foundation repair and basement waterproofing. After conducting a thorough inspection of the basement, the Project Manager recommended sealing the cracks in the walls and floor with High-Powered Urethane Crack Injection. This solution would provide a fast and effective seal, preventing water from seeping into the basement and causing damage. He also recommended the Carbon Fiber Power Grid, to prevent the walls from bowing any further. The next day, our crew arrived to begin the repair work. They first cleaned the crack and the surrounding area, removing any dirt or debris. Then they carefully injected the urethane into the crack, filling it from top to bottom. The urethane material used for the injection was flexible and able to withstand changes in temperature and pressure, making it an ideal solution for this family's basement. Once the crack was sealed, our crew turned their attention to the bowing wall. The wall was showing signs of weakness and needed reinforcement to ensure its stability. The Carbon Fiber Power Grid is a strong and durable solution that provides long-term support to the walls without adding any additional weight. The crew expertly installed the carbon fiber power grid, securing it to the wall with special adhesive. The grid was easy to install and did not cause any damage to the existing wall, making it a convenient solution for the family. The wall was now reinforced and ready to withstand any future pressure. The family was very happy with the results of the repair work. The large vertical crack was no longer a source of concern and the bowing wall was now stable and secure. The basement was now ready to be used for storage or as additional living space, providing the family with the extra room and flexibility they needed.
Sinking Garage Restored with Helical Piers in Waterford, Mi
A homeowner in Waterford, Mi was growing more frustrated with the condition of the garage detracting from their property value. More specifically, the garage had begun sinking in on one side and had cracks spreading along the poured concrete walls and floors. Deciding it was time to solve this problem, they began searching for a qualified foundation repair specialist nearby. After talking with friends and family, they were referred to HomeSpec Basementfix.Keith Brown, one of our Project Managers,  was sent out into the field to get his eyes on the situation. When he arrived at the residence, Keith began a proper inspection of the problem and found that the damage to the walls and sinking of the garage was most likely due to settlement issues in the soil below the foundation of the garage. Over time, due to a variety of reasons such as oversaturation, drought, etc. soils can move, shift and settle beneath the surface, causing the foundation above to shift in order to fill the new voids. He explained how foundation-related problems can continue to evolve into more serious situations when not handled properly. In order to solve this foundation repair problem, our crew would first address the current cracks by filling them with a high pressure urethane crack injection. We would also install plates of carbon along the cracks through carved slits, in order to prevent the cracks from spreading any further to other areas. The best way to lift and rebalance this property was with the use of a helical piering system. Helical piers owe their name to the helical plates along their shaft, which allow them to screw into and extend through soil to reach more stable foundations. The weight of the garage is then transferred from the old foundation, through the piers, which are attached with steel brackets to the home, and finally to the new load-bearing soils. This would effectively help bring the garage back into proper balance, and address the core of the foundation’s problem. With their fear of a sinking garage put to rest, and their property value effectively restored, the homeowner would go on to review how appreciative they were with Keith’s professional behavior and open communication throughout the project.

Homeowner with LakeHouse in Newport, MI has Foundation Lifted with Helical Pier Support System
A homeowner in Newport, MI with a lakeside home for over 20 years had been facing challenges with flooding due to heavy rainfall and rising water levels. The situation had taken a toll on their home, as water had been pouring into their crawlspace, creating a significant problem and concern for mold and musty odors. THis constant flooding of the crawl space led the home's foundation to sink in certain areas and cause damage to the structure of the home. In an effort to combat the water intrusion, they had installed pumps that have been quite effective in keeping most of the water out. However, this didn't last very long because the water levels kept rising above the pumps' capabilities. Wanting to explore additional solutions to fortify their home's protection, they reached out to us for a comprehensive inspection.   When our Project Manager arrived at the home, they had noticed that the water intrusion was beginning to affect certain areas of their foundation. This led them to conclude that the best possible solution for this homeowner would be to have the Helical Pier Support System installed in order to combat the sinking structure.   So, what exactly are 3" Helical Piers, and how do they work? These piers are engineered with large helical plates that resemble screws. When installed beneath the home's foundation, they penetrate into deeper stable soil layers, anchoring the structure securely and preventing it from settling or shifting during floods or any other heavy rainfall. These piers are particularly well-suited for properties like this homeowners property, as they provided excellent load-bearing capabilities and are ideal for stabilizing structures on uneven terrain.   Our crew started the process by assessing the locations where the Helical Piers should be placed. Once identified, they excavated around the perimeter of the home to gain access to the foundation's base. With precision, they insert the Helical Piers into the ground, gradually advancing them deep into the soil until they reach the stable bedrock or load-bearing layers. As they advance the piers, the helical plates create a strong and secure grip within the ground, giving this home the much-needed support to withstand the forces of flooding. The installation process was quick, ensuring minimal disruption to their living space and daily activities. To further enhance the ventilation of the crawlspace and mitigate any moisture-related issues, our crew also encapsulated the crawl space. This would ensure proper air circulation, preventing the buildup of humidity and mold growth.   As our crew wrapped up the installation, the homeowner could see their lakeside home now fortified against the threat of flooding, providing them with the peace of mind they deserve.
