Homeowner with Murky Water Leaking into Their Unfinished Basement has the WaterGuard Installed to Protect Their Peace of Mind in Trenton, MI
Recently, we received a call from a homeowner in Trenton, MI who was experiencing water seepage in their basement. They had told us the water was a murky brown color and was seeping through the wall, running down and collecting at the bottom of the floor. The homeowner also informed us that there was no visible crack in the wall, which made it challenging to determine the source of the water leakage. Upon receiving this information, we sent one of our Project Managers to the homeowner's location to assess the situation and determine the most appropriate basement waterproofing solution. When he arrived, he inspected the basement and confirmed that the water was seeping through the wall, which was made of poured concrete. The homeowner further revealed that the area where the water was entering was unfinished, which made it even more susceptible to water damage. To address this, our Project Manager recommended installing the WaterGuard system, a state-of-the-art waterproofing solution that is designed to capture water seepage before it reaches the basement floor. In addition to the WaterGuard, he also recommended the installation of the SuperSump Plus sump pump system. The SuperSump Plus is a high-performance sump pump that is designed to keep basements dry and free from water damage.  The WaterGuard was first installed along the perimeter of the basement, beneath the floor, which collects any water that seeps through the wall or floor and drains it to a sump pump. Then the SuperSump sump pump was installed and connected to the drainage system to ensure no more water could enter through the walls.  The homeowner was delighted with our services and expressed their gratitude for our prompt and efficient response. They were also pleased to know that the basement was now protected from any water damage and could be finished whenever they were ready without any worries.

Beverly Hills, Mi Window Well Replaced For Basement Waterproofing and Driveway Concrete Repair
This homeowner in Beverly Hills, Mi, was concerned water was getting in through where their basement walls met the floor, but couldn't find any cracks or vulnerabilities, leaving them confused. They reached out to HomeSpec for a skilled professional to conduct a proper inspection of the problem. The professional in question would be Dave Kingsley, who was easily able to track down the leak to a surprising culprit. The signs of wear from water leaks led to the basement window. Curious Dave decided to check the outside of the window and discovered that the window well was rusted with holes, letting water occasionally seep through during rainy weather.   Dave explained the findings of his investigation to the homeowner, backtracking each step of his inspection to ensure that there was a mutual understanding of the cause and how it was found. It was proposed to simply replace the well; at this point, the rust and damage had gone too far to be reasonably salvaged. Dave proposed the installation of the SunHouse enclosure. The SunHouse window enclosure, is closed from the bottom preventing weed growth and keeping things clean while being sturdy, rot, rust, and corrosion proof, prevents wind from blowing against basement windows and even helps reflect as much light as possible into the basement.   The homeowners were happy to have a simple solution. but before Dave called our crew in for installation, the family would inquire if minor driveway crack repair would also be possible since we were already out. We happily accepted, and had the crew set to work with both the SunHouse and using NexusPro crack repair and a concrete protection system to boot, just for a last touch to ensure customer satisfaction. Unlike other sealants, the NexusPro is a silicone-based sealant for cracks and joints alike. The NexusPro sealant won’t crack, dry up, or bubble, allowing for a long-term answer to the cracks.   Not only did we do minor basement waterproofing, but also some concrete repair, all to ensure that every need was met.

Homeowner Has Damp, Musty Basement Solved with WaterGuard and SuperSump in Riverview, MI
This homeowner in Riverview, MI had lived in their home for over 30 years, and it had always been a comfortable home for them. However, things started to take a turn when they noticed a damp, musty smell in the basement. Upon further investigation, this homeowner discovered water leaking from the basement walls, which was causing damage to the belongings they had stored downstairs. After doing some research into the best basement waterproofing companies nearby, they came across HomeSpec BasementFix and reached out to schedule an inspection.   Once an appointment had been set, we sent one of our Project Managers, Mark, to assess the situation. Upon further inspection he found that the water was seeping through the foundation wall and pooling on the basement floor, which was causing mold to grow and the belongings to get damaged. Mark recommended installing a WaterGuard drainage system and a SuperSump Plus to solve the basement leaking problem.   When our crew arrived, they started by excavating a small trench around the perimeter of the basement floor, which allowed them to install the WaterGuard drainage system. This system is designed to capture any water that seeps through the foundation wall or floor and direct it to the SuperSump Plus. Next, they installed the SuperSump Plus, which is a high-powered sump pump capable of efficiently removing water from the basement and discharging it away from the foundation. Once both systems were installed, the crew made sure to test the system thoroughly to ensure that it was functioning correctly.   After completing the installation, they made sure to clean up the area, leaving no mess behind. This homeowner was very satisfied with the work done, and they were impressed with how quickly and efficiently our crew solved the problem. They no longer had to worry about water damage to their belongings, and the basement was once again a safe and healthy living space.
Bloomfield Hills, Mi Basement Waterproofing with New Sump Pump and Dehumidifier
A Home Inspector referred this new Bloomfield Hills, Mi homeowner to HomeSpec once they found water or moisture getting in along each side of the fireplace in the basement. Project manager Mark, conducting a secondary inspection, found the problems source to be a bit complicated to track down. The roof of the house had several valleys that would come together at a point where water was collecting. The water would then run down the walls along the fireplace until it would become apparent in the basement. The inspection, and some testing would turn up the cause to be that their current sump pump was failing and couldn’t keep up during rainfall when it was needed the most. The failing sump pump couldn’t handle the water coming in, which was leading to a myriad of wet basement issues. Having just recently bought the home recently and having had many terrible experiences involving wet basements and water damage in their previous home, the homeowner wanted to ensure a proper basement waterproofing solution before settling in.   The first step would be to install a new sump pump. The homeowners opted for the Ultra Sump with its battery backup system. Since severe weather can easily knock power out, it's important to have a backup plan for basement waterproofing is your home is prone to water leakage or flooding. In the event of a power loss, the battery backup will automatically kick in and begin removing water from your basement, preventing a flood. The UltraSump® system can pump out in excess of 11,500 gallons of water on a fully charged battery, which is enough water to fill a small swimming pool! We extended a new exterior sump discharge with freeze prevention, to direct the flow of water to a basin further away from the home as a precaution. Finally, a basement dehumidifier was installed with 20' of additional drainage tube to ensure basement longevity and an overall better homeowner experience. The SaniDry Sedona is small enough to be used as a crawl space dehumidifier, if need be, while powerful enough to be considered “the most effective and energy-efficient flow-through dehumidifier in the world. With the dehumidifier's automatic drainage, and the sump pumps backup battery system, the homeowner could set these two solutions and enjoy their days without worry of constant monitoring.   After a series of terrible wet basement situations in their previous homes, the new homeowner was overjoyed and relieved to finally have a set of reliable solutions.
