A couple in Macomb, MI has lived in a house for the last 23 years, since it was built. Unfortunately, there has been water leaking in the basement through a concrete foundation wall. They knew that if their children were to inherit the house they would want to take care of any and all issues first. They definitely did not want to leave mold or potential for more to grow. To get their basement assessed, the homeowners called HomeSpec Waterproofing & Foundation Repair.

HomeSpec sent Chris B., an inspector, for the evaluation. He did a walkthrough of the home and a lap around the outside to get a full understanding of the condition. After speaking with the homeowners about their concerns, he provided some suggestions. A sump pump and WaterGuard® drainage system would capture the water and pump it away from the home while the Everlast Wall Restoration System would prevent future leaks and insulate the space. The wall waterproofing material also includes a 50-year warranty and offers a clean look. The homeowners approved all of the recommendations and HomeSpec scheduled a crew to begin the work.

The foreman, Brandon H., led the team in getting the work done efficiently. After installing the interior drainage system the crew turned their attention to the Everlast Wall Restoration System. They carefully removed the bottom portion of the basement walls and fitted the waterproofing material into place. The team used baseboards to finish the project and tidied up after themselves. The homeowners were pleased with the final results, a dry and beautiful basement.

A home in Macomb, MI was on the market so the current homeowner could move closer to family. He recommended using Mold-X2 to prevent mold growth before installing products to prevent moisture. These products would be the SmartPipe™ perimeter drainage pipe and CleanSpace® encapsulation. HomeSpec already had to repair damaged walls in this Saint Clair Shores, Michigan basement back in 2020 because they were severely cracked and bowing. Recently though, the homeowner Stephanie and her dad were removing wall panels from another room in the basement and found the same exact issues – bad water damage, bowing walls and large cracks in the blocks. 

Foundation repair expert Ryan Loop and waterproofing foreman Jerry Blevins lead the crew to complete this repair. They stabilized and braced the foundation walls with the PowerBrace Wall Repair System and Carbon Fiber Straps. A WaterGuard Perimeter Drainage System (aka French Drain) was installed to curb the water intrusion.
