HomeSpec Waterproofing and Foundation Repair Before & After Photos

A home in Macomb, MI was on the market so the current homeowner could move closer to family. Unfortunately, one accepted offer was rescinded after a home inspector found moisture and mold in the crawl space. The homeowner did not want to risk this happening again and decided to have the crawl space repaired. They called HomeSpec Waterproofing and Foundation Repair for a free inspection and estimate.

Zach, a senior project manager for HomeSpec, did his own inspection so the crew would be properly prepared if the homeowner decided to move forward with the company. He saw the mold and moisture issues previously pointed out and investigated the scope of the damage. Zach then created a repair plan and brought it to the homeowner for consideration. He recommended using Mold-X2 to prevent mold growth before installing products to prevent moisture. These products would be the SmartPipe™ perimeter drainage pipe and CleanSpace® encapsulation. The homeowner agreed to this course of action. The HomeSpec crew that installed this project was led by foreman Jon. The homeowner was very happy with the final results!

HomeSpec already had to repair damaged walls in this Saint Clair Shores, Michigan basement back in 2020 because they were severely cracked and bowing. Recently though, the homeowner Stephanie and her dad were removing wall panels from another room in the basement and found the same exact issues – bad water damage, bowing walls and large cracks in the blocks. 

Foundation repair expert Ryan Loop and waterproofing foreman Jerry Blevins lead the crew to complete this repair. They stabilized and braced the foundation walls with the PowerBrace Wall Repair System and Carbon Fiber Straps. A WaterGuard Perimeter Drainage System (aka French Drain) was installed to curb the water intrusion. Sections of the walls were covered with our BrightWall Vapor Barrier Panels to insulate and direct water into the drainage system. 

Stephanie and her father were once again very happy with the results of their newly repaired basement! They don't have to worry anymore about losing property value because of the damage or worry about the issues worsening. 

A Saint Clair Shores, MI home was owned by former residents of the state. Because they still owned the home, they decided it would be a good idea for their father to move in; however, it would have to be repaired first. While the finished basement may have looked prettier before the repairs, the homeowners can rest easy knowing their father lives in a stable, secure, and dry environment.

The homeowner agreed to this plan and worked with the HomeSpec team to decide when a crew would install these products. They were happy with the finished results!

HomeSpec rebuilt some of the deteriorated blocks, then lifted the foundation and installed helical piers to stabilize the home.
