This homeowner has a 111-year-old home with a fieldstone foundation that was leaking where the floor and the wall meet. He contacted HomeSpec and our crew installed an interior drainage system and a vapor barrier on the walls to waterproof the basement and prevent future water issues.

These homeowners contacted HomeSpec after hearing about the PolyLevel method to repairing concrete. Their backyard patio concrete slabs were extremely uneven and sinking - and made the patio look very unsightly. They were redoing their backyard and wanted the concrete fixed ASAP.  HomeSpec repaired the patio by injecting the polyurethane foam below the concrete slabs. As it expanded, the slabs were lifted and leveled. This is a stable, permanent solution to repairing concrete. In Saline, Mi this homeowner had noticed flaking at the base of the block foundation walls for about ten years. It wasn't until her weeping tiles towards the front of the house as well as the sump pump both failed, that she realized she needed help. Help came in the form of HomeSpec's Mark Buhr.   Mark sat down with the homeowner and their partner to discuss all the signs and details they've noticed over their years living in this home. He talked them through every step of his inspection process to determine the best fit solution for their specific situation. A closer inspection revealed that most of the damage in turn was most likely caused by water leaking through the area where the walls and basement floor met via hydrostatic pressure. That is, that water was accumulating in the soil near the house, and being pushed down the heavier it got, until it found crevices to push through in the house. Short version, this house needed basement waterproofing around the perimeter of their walls.    The WaterGuard drainage system would be the perfect fit solution for this problem. WaterGuard is a customizable piping system engineered specifically to solve basement water problems without worry of clogging. WaterGuard has a special wall flange that creates space between the floor and wall, allowing wall seepage to drain away seamlessly to the designated basin, where the crew would install the TripleSafe sump pump. As the name suggests, this system uses 3 pumps, a powerful primary 1/3 hp pump to handle traditional needs, a secondary 1/2 pump to help offset extreme cases of rising water levels as well as to serve as a backup should the first fail, and the third pump as a battery powered backup system in case of a power outage or other emergency that could hinder the first two while being capable of discharging up to 11,500 gallons of water on a single charge. A proven and long-lasting solution for basement water problems.   The family had let this problem go unchecked for a long time, with things only worsening each year. Now they had a waterproofed basement and new sump pump that would last them the foreseeable future without worry.

A homeowner in Saline, MI  had been struggling with water infiltration in their basement for several years and it was finally reaching a point where their daily life was beginning to get affected. He also suggested installing TrenchDrain, a basement drainage system, to collect water at the foot of stairs leading to the basement, which can be a common area for water to collect. Finally, for added protection, he recommended installing the CleanSpace Wall, a waterproof and mold-resistant wall liner. On the day of install, our crew arrived and began by excavating a perimeter around the basement wall in order to install the WaterGuard, after the trench was dug, they placed the system on the foundation footing in order to prevent the drain from clogging. Next, the Waterguard was hooked up to the TripleSafe System in order to ensure the water could be removed from the property in the event of another flood. Lastly, our crew would install the CleanSpace Wall System around the perimeter of the basement to ensure the walls stayed dry and the basement free of any moisture.  By addressing these issues, these homeowners were able to maintain the value of their property and ensure that the next homeowner would not have to deal with the same problems they faced.
