Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Interior Drainage System Installed to Eliminate Water in Westland, MI, Basement
A home in Westland, MI, was having problems with water leakage in the basement. The owners contacted HomeSpec looking for a solution. HomeSpec knew they could help and sent a project manager named Ben to inspect the home.
After a thorough inspection, HomeSpec confirmed the water leakage. They explained to the homeowners that to solve this issue and prevent any further leakage, they should have an Interior Drainage System installed. This system would collect unwanted water in the basement and direct it to the sump pump. The homeowners agreed to the installation, and a team led by Vernon, along with plumbing specialist Rick, quickly got to work. Once the job was finished, the homeowners were glad to have a dry basement once again.
Trench for Interior Drainage System
To install the interior drainage system, the HomeSpec crew first had to dig out a trench. They needed a space that fit alongside the foundation footer.
Interior Drainage System Surrounded with Stone and Protective Liner
To protect the interior drainage system from being damaged, small stones fill the remaining space in the trench. Then, a protective layer is placed on top to protect from the concrete that will seal the system into place.
Concrete Completes Waterproofing Project
To finalize this waterproofing project, a layer of concrete is applied. This is leveled with the original basement floor, which allows for normal use of the space once the concrete dries.
