Your sump pump should always be pumping water away from your foundation. Especially if you live in an area with a high water table or a high level of water around your foundation, you need a reliable sump pump to keep your basement from flooding. This Melvindale homeowner did not have that - sometimes her sump pump wouldn't work at all. This made her constantly worry, until she finally contacted HomeSpec.
Our crew installed a brand new TripleSafe sump pump. This provides triple the protection with 3 powerful pumps that expel 2,000 gallons of water every hour.
Now the homeowner doesn't have to worry about her basement flooding, knowing it's in good hands.
Jenny W. from Birmingham, Michigan contacted HomeSpec after finding water leaking into her basement after a bad storm through the floor/wall joint and cracks in the walls.
HomeSpec had a solution for her wet basement woes: a waterproofing system. This includes a WaterGuard Drainage System that installs around the perimeter to collect water before it leaks into the basement. This then deposits water into the TripleSafe Sump Pump (with 3 pumps for triple the protection) which funnels water away from the home.
We also installed our Foamax Basement Wall Panels to hide the unsightly foundation walls, brighten up the space, and drain any water leaks into the drainage system.
The basement's transformation was astounding and Jenny couldn't be any happier with the results!
Wet basements are not fun for anyone - water can damage furniture and belongings stored downstairs, mold can grow and cause health problems, and homeowners can waste a lot time and money cleaning it up. If water is constantly seeping into a basement, it can eventually flood severely. A homeowner in Ecorse, Michigan dealt with a wet basement for many years, and after a serious flood finally decided to install a full waterproofing system.
After a thorough inspection and many conversations with the homeowner about his needs, the project manager proposed a solution. That solution included a perimeter drainage system, sump pump, and vapor barrier.
The drainage system + sump pump is integral to waterproof a basement. They prevent water from flooding into the basement by collecting it first then funneling it away from the home. The vapor barrier prevents moisture and water vapor from entering through the walls, and instead directs it down to the drain. It also covers the unsightly stains on the concrete wall.
The homeowner is very satisficed with his newly dry basement, and he's thankful he doesn't have to stress about it anymore.
A homeowner in Royal Oak, MI noticed that there was moisture invading their home seasonally. The water had damaged the carpet and this concerned the homeowner. The basement was their primary living area so it was important that the cause of water be addressed to maintain the space. The homeowner reached out to HomeSpec Waterproofing and Foundation Repair to discuss solutions to their problem. One of HomeSpec’s trained project managers visited the home to offer a free inspection and no obligation estimate.
After taking measurements and notes in the basement, the project manager concluded that the the water was coming in where the wall and the floor meet. They discussed this source with the homeowner and worked together to come up with a repair plan. The project manager proposed waterproofing the basement with an interior drainage system using WaterGuard® and connecting that to a new Sump Pump and discharge line. This would collect any intruding water and pump it out of the home. Once that work was completed, then the team could install ThermalDry® Elite Plank Flooring, flooring that looks like wood but is waterproof and mold-resistant. The homeowner agreed to this plan and scheduled HomeSpec’s crews to see the repair plan through. Two crews were sent to tackle different parts of the project. Vernon’s team first took care of the drainage and then Jon’s team installed the new flooring. The homeowner was happy to have a functional basement again!
"I'm so tired of cleaning up a wet basement. Help."
That's what Scott F. in Royal Oak, Michigan said when he contacted HomeSpec. Water had been seeping into his basement whenever it rained and he needed a long-term repair – so that's what we gave him.
Foreman Blake Dushefski and his crew installed a WaterGuard Drainage System, also referred to as a French Drain. This was connected to a TripleSafe Sump Pump which can pump out 2,000+ gallons of water per hour. This system installs below the floor around the perimeter of the basement to gather any water coming into the basement, then deposits it into the sump pump to be directed away from the home. This is the most efficient way to waterproof a basement from the interior.
Scott was so excited to have a dry basement for the first time ever – and the system even held up against the record rainfall and flooding that occurred recently, which made him very happy.
