HomeSpec had a solution for her wet basement woes: a waterproofing system. This includes a WaterGuard Drainage System that installs around the perimeter to collect water before it leaks into the basement. The drainage system + sump pump is integral to waterproof a basement. They prevent water from flooding into the basement by collecting it first then funneling it away from the home. The vapor barrier prevents moisture and water vapor from entering through the walls, and instead directs it down to the drain. It also covers the unsightly stains on the concrete wall.

Once that work was completed, then the team could install ThermalDry® Elite Plank Flooring, flooring that looks like wood but is waterproof and mold-resistant. The homeowner agreed to this plan and scheduled HomeSpec’s crews to see the repair plan through. Two crews were sent to tackle different parts of the project. Vernon’s team first took care of the drainage and then Jon’s team installed the new flooring. The homeowner was happy to have a functional basement again!

Foreman Blake Dushefski and his crew installed a WaterGuard Drainage System, also referred to as a French Drain. This was connected to a TripleSafe Sump Pump which can pump out 2,000+ gallons of water per hour. This system installs below the floor around the perimeter of the basement to gather any water coming into the basement, then deposits it into the sump pump to be directed away from the home. This is the most efficient way to waterproof a basement from the interior.
