Interior Drainage System Installed in Milford, MI

A Milford, MI homeowner was experiencing water in their basement during heavy rains. They had also noticed cracking in the foundation walls. They had been in the home for nearly ten years and wanted to ensure it was taken care of if they decided to sell in the future. The homeowner reached out to HomeSpec Waterproofing and Foundation Repair to inquire about a free inspection. After speaking with the call center team, they scheduled an appointment with a senior project manager named Erik.

Erik visited the home and investigated where the water was entering from as well as any possible structural issues. After a thorough analysis, he returned to the homeowner to discuss a repair plan that fit their needs. Erik suggested installing an interior drainage system using WaterGuard® as well as installing a new basin. The homeowner agreed to this plan and a team was scheduled out to complete the work.

Water Discharge Line Buried & Extended in Willis, MI

The best part about basement waterproofing systems – such as French Drains and Sump Pumps – is that they keep your basement or crawl space DRY. They do this by collecting water before it seeps into the basement, and then funneling the water away from your home. But where does the water go?

The water needs to be pumped away from the home through the discharge line. It's best for it to be buried to hide the unsightly pipe and prevent tripping hazards. The further the discharge is from the home, the better – so the water coming out won't have a chance to leak back into the basement.

That's what HomeSpec did for this homeowner in Willis, Michigan. The discharge line was extended and buried, and when it was finished, you could barely tell the grass was removed!

Sump Pump Discharge Line Extended and Buried in Salem, MI

This sump pump discharge line was extended a whopping 18 feet to connect to the storm basin! The interior drainage system collects water coming into the basement and deposits it into the sump pump, which then pumps the water away from the home through the discharge line. By burying the discharge line, it elmininates unsighlty pipes and tripping hazards.

New Sump Pump and Waterproofing in Plymouth, MI

In 2022, a family moved into a home in Plymouth, MI. Over the last couple of years, the finished basement has suffered water damage during heavy rains. It had gotten so bad that the children were no longer able to play downstairs. The family installed a sump pump hoping to solve this problem; however, the next time it rained the sump pump proved ineffective. They were ready to finally be done with these leaks so they called HomeSpec Waterproofing and Foundation Repair.

Jeremiah, a project manager for HomeSpec, went to the home to do an inspection. He saw the sump pump the family had purchased as well as the areas where water intrusion in the basement occurred. He shared with them that a sump pump was a good idea, but that it alone was not enough to stop the water. Jeremiah proposed using a powerful sump pump that is compatible with an interior drainage system using WaterGuard® french drains. These drains would line the majority of the basement walls which would reach where the previous sump pump could not. He also suggested using the Everlast Wall Restoration System which is a waterproof basement finishing material and a
SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier. The homeowners agreed to use these products. HomeSpec’s foremen, Brandon and Rick, led the installations for this project. The family was happy to have their usable basement back for the whole family when the work was completed.
