Basement Waterproofing Before & After Photos

The wall panels not only cover the unsightly basement walls, but they insulate the basement and help direct water into the drainage system. The drainage system (also know as French drain) installs around the perimeter of the basement below the floor to capture water before it leaks into the basement. This then deposits the water into the sump pump, where the 3 levels of pumps will funnel any amount of water away from the foundation. 

This system will keep the basement dry while also helping it look great – plus Adrienne was very thankful for the permanent fix!

Did you know that HomeSpec Waterproofing and Foundation Repair does work on housing cooperatives and apartments as well as single-family homes? In this case, Homespec was contacted by a management company to fix a few vertical cracks in the basement walls of a co-op unit in Center Line, MI. These types of cracks can be easily repaired by one of HomeSpec’s foremen using high pressure urethane injections. The manager agreed to let HomeSpec move forward with the repairs.

A PolyLevel foreman, Domonique, injected a material that expanded behind the crack to fill in the gaps where water might pass through. The crack was then sealed to provide a permanent, waterproof solution. The company was happy with the crack repairs and happy knowing a new resident would be able to enjoy every floor of the unit. 

This home in Warren, MI was experiencing an issue with water in the basement. The homeowner heard from a neighbor that they had been struggling with the same type of problems. Knowing they would have to call a company just as their neighbor had, who better to call than the same company? The inspector, Elon, recommended a handful of products including a TripleSafe™ Sump Pump System. This Before and After shows how important it is to have a functional sump pump. While HomeSpec was installing the new drainage system, the sump pump began to fill with water because the water that caused the homeowner concern was already being rerouted. Once the sump pump was fully installed and active, it was able to properly discharge the water out of the basement. An unfinished basement in Sterling Heights, MI began leaking through cracks in the walls. The homeowner feared that things would get far worse if it went unaddressed. Jeremiah, one of HomeSpec’s senior project managers, went out to the home. He met with the owner and talked about what they had noticed before being shown the basement. Jeremiah took measurements throughout the area and noted where water was intruding. After careful evaluation, he went to speak with the homeowner again and proposed a solution. While the basement did have an existing discharge, it did not have a WaterGuard® interior drainage system, an UltraSump® Battery Backup System, or a CleanSpace® vapor barrier.
